We're thrilled to share some wonderful news from two of our teams. Lucy Oliver from Masons Rural and Olivia Marriott from Masons Lettings and Property Management have both successfully completed their apprenticeships with First College Lincs, passing with flying colours and moving into full-time roles within different parts of Masons & Partners LLP.

Different journeys with shared success

Their achievements perfectly demonstrate why we're so passionate about investing in our staff and supporting the apprenticeship route into full time employment. Lucy and Liv's stories show there's no single path to success. Lucy joined us straight from school in August 2023 with a great set of GCSEs, eager to gain practical experience while studying. Liv, meanwhile, joined Masons in June 2024, after completing her A-levels then traveling and working abroad as a ski instructor and au pair.

Both approaches proved equally valuable. Lucy's start straight from school gave her time to develop her skills within our Rural Team, where she has excelled in market administration and promoting Louth Market Motorhome Stopover as part of her Business Apprenticeship project. For Lettings, Liv combined strong academic achievement to A-level with Customer Service skills gained through work and life experience, becoming an indispensable member of our Lettings & Management Team, handling tenant applications and supporting landlords with confidence.

History of apprenticeship at Masons

Lucy and Liv, follow in an almost 10-year history of apprenticeships at Masons, as Simon Williams, our Managing Director, is a big advocate of practical workplace learning.

"We’ve always championed apprenticeships at Masons and so I am really pleased that Lucy and Liv are both now in a position to push on with their continued personal and professional development. We look forward to watching them grow into their roles, supporting colleagues within their teams and the business as whole, as we end our 175th anniversary celebrations and prepare for 2026."

Lucy and Liv's success didn't happen by chance. They demonstrated commitment, dedication, and aptitude for learning supported in work time. Lucy achieved distinction in her Level 3 Business Apprenticeship, transitioning seamlessly into her new role as Accounts & Finance Assistant in October 2025.

Liv also completed her Level 2 Customer Service apprenticeship with exceptional results to become a full-time Lettings Agent & Negotiator this November. Both graduated with First College Lincs, whose expert training and support has been instrumental in the development of our apprentices.

“Apprenticeships are not an automatic route to a job. You must show up, put the work in, and prove you're worth keeping on. Both Lucy and Liv did exactly that, and more” added Simon.

Oliva said “completing my apprenticeship was pretty smooth and enjoyable. Learning on the job is always beneficial and I’m excited to step into my new role.”

We’re grateful to First College Lincs for their support throughout their apprenticeship journey. Good training makes a real difference, and they've been excellent partners for Masons in developing staff.

“I am thrilled to have completed my apprenticeship. It was a great course that made me aware of different aspects within the businesses and from it, I realised that I wanted to be involved in more accounts-based work,” explained Lucy.

“I look forward to working more with figures and looking at working towards an AAT qualification in the near future. I am excited to get started within my new role and I am very grateful to Simon, Russell and Lucy for the support that they have given me.”

Looking to the future

The last word goes to Simon Williams "Congratulations on all their hard work and natural talent which has resulted in quite phenomenal course marks. All our very best wishes for your future career with Masons and thank you for your hard work and commitment.”

We look forward to what comes next.
