Farmers' spring onsite & online collective sale of agricultural machinery & aquipment
Fri 20 Mar 2026
Held at Louth Livestock Market, in the heart of the vibrant market town of Louth, if you’ve joined us for previous Spring and Autumn Machinery Sales over the past two years, you'll know that a great day out also achieves excellent returns for local farmers and regional dealers alike. Since our first Farmers’ Spring Collective in 2023 we’ve attracted attention from buyers across the whole of the UK, building sale by sale, year on year, both onsite and via our online selling platform Marteye.
Entries are now open for our next sale on 25th April 2026 – our Farmers' Spring Collective Sale of Agricultural Machinery & Equipment so it’s the perfect time to review your current farm machinery requirements and see what unused assets could be turned into cashflow and better deployed as working capital or used to reduce debt.
Both last year’s Spring and Autumn 2025 Farmers’ Collective Sale reflected how demand is strong for quality second hand machinery in this part of Lincolnshire. While recent model, low hour machinery achieves the best prices, we often see equipment over 10 and even 20 years old do very well at auction, especially those that are well presented and serviced.
The percentage of sales to entry last year was up on the previous year with farmers and machinery dealers entering high quality equipment rewarded to receive high returns, reflected in 2025 prices.

As director and auctioneer Russell Jeanes says “we’ve seen more farmers look towards the second hand market rather than buying new, as farmers are under pressure to make savings across the board. Many farmers are wary of financing new machinery in the current climate with legislative changes front of mind and global commodity prices adding financial pressures. This supports a shift from new to used stock.”
It follows that there is a demand for spares and refurbishment rather than replacing existing vehicles with new machines. For many farming families it is simply more cost effective to repair and upgrade with new components rather than brand new machinery and those elements can be found in machinery sales.
Henry Simpson, from the Masons Rural team has noted significant growth on the online sales platform Marteye in the last three years:
“Although Louth-based, our Collective and dispersal Machinery Sales have seen increased activity in online bidding from further afield with large machinery finding new homes in Wales, Scotand and Southern England. Our online bidding platform means we can help Lincolnshire farmers sell machinery, vehicles and equipment nationally. And buy too from their own tractor cab, if they can’t make it along on sale day.”
