Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier one year extension
Wed 15 Oct 2025
It has been announced today that the Countryside Stewardship Mid Tier (CS MT) agreements, which were set to expire on the 31st December 2025, will be offered a one year extension, moving the agreement end date to 31st December 2026. This targeted, time-limited extension is being offered to more than 5,000 farmers.
“For those farmers that are nearing the end of their Mid Tier agreements, it is great to see some acknowledgement and support from the government for the work that has been done by the farmers to deliver environmental benefits for the nation. In the short term it will provide some certainty whilst we wait for details on the reformed Sustainable Farming Incentive for 2026.” shared Abi Saunders, our Agri Business Advisor.
The agreements will continue under the same rules, terms, and conditions as your existing CS MT agreement.
The RPA will write to eligible farmers with details about their extension offer over the next couple of weeks. The letter will contain details of how farmers accept their extension and the deadline they need to meet for it to be processed.
If you have a CS MT agreement which started in 2021 and is set to expire on the 31st December 2025 and have not heard from the RPA by the 6th November, or if you would like further guidance, please get in contact with Abi Saunders on 07930 592030 or email [email protected].
