We’re delighted to announce Rural Surveyor, Lucy Turner MRICS FAAV has been appointed a Director with the Masons Rural team having joined the firm as a graduate. Lucy was made an Associate in July 2023, following her success in becoming a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in the previous year.

Lucy joins the Masons Rural board alongside Simon Williams, Managing Director and Russell Jeanes, with whom she works closely to provide professional advice to clients affected by the increasing number of renewables-oriented cable routes across the county and a wide range of other professional work including formal valuations as a RICS Registered Valuer.

As Simon explains “This promotion is not only a recognition of Lucy’s dedication to providing great advice to our clients across all areas of our business, but it also takes note of her increased responsibility, client portfolio and growing professional reputation. It is an invitation to help shape the future of the business at a very transitional time for the sector.“

“Both our traditional farming clients and new landowners require additional levels of guidance and support in the changing physical and political landscape, and Lucy has shown herself to be capable of being that senior trusted advisor they need,” he added.

As the first female director in Masons’ 174-year history, Lucy is keen to advocate for more women to follow her into what she describes as a rewarding and diverse profession.

“There’s never been such an interesting time to be in a rural business consultancy firm with so much change affecting agriculture and the rural economy” says Lucy.

“I have had so much support from Simon and Russell to build my career with Masons Rural to date. I’m delighted and excited to join them in running and steering the business and look forward to contributing to the next chapter in Masons’ history”.
